Joke Of The Month
?A (no-doubt) well rehearsed Saddam Hussein says that he seeks an internationally televised debate with President George Bush!?
In what has got to be the ?Joke Of The Month?, Hussein said, and I quote: ?This is something I propose in ernest. Out of my respect for the people of the United States, and my respect for the people of Iraq, and the people of the world. I call for this because war is not a joke!? (end quote) Now what do you suppose prompted Saddam to issue this verbal challenge? The protests against war recently initiated by many in the world (U.S. included) perhaps! The fact that Hussein is playing a little ?Hearts and Flowers? to people who have quickly forgotten the Kurds gassed by the ?Beast of Baghdad?, men, women and children alike?! Maybe your sympathies have been prompted by the babies tossed out of Kuwaiti incubators, or the rapes committed by Hussein?s Iraqi troops back in 1990?! Hussein reminds me of the ?Boy That Cried Wolf!? While he is kicking ass, it?s all perfectly acceptable and proper. But when he (Hussein) bites off more than he can chew (or is that suck on?), he grabs hold of world opinion, declares himself the injured party, and cries aloud: ?Hey, let?s talk about it!? Had Saddam Hussein been around and in charge some 62 years ago, and had he been hatched-out in Japan instead of Iraq, the bum would have probably been appealing for mercy, understanding, and a dialogue on Monday morning, 8 December 1941! And what makes you think that if the ?SOB? gets away with murder again, he will back off? If this is what you beleive, then the word ?delusional? definitely comes to mind! Hussein is pulling out all public relation stops in an effort to keep his ?Ass-Sets? intact! VERITAS :x: |
Hardcore,
He's on the run and stalling as usual. His back is up against the wall and he's feeling the pressure. There will be no debate the time for that is long past. He's a waste to his people and to those who support him. I feel that someone in his court will take him out for the money and then leave the country. The real problems I've been hearing now is that the Kurdish want to begin a separate state of which Turkey is against. I'm looking now past Sadam and who the new leadership will be in that country. It seems more and moe difficult to say just how stable that country will be once the bully is pushed off his seat of power? Instability for sure is the key word once Sadam is gone. There will be power struggles and political nightmares of such that I'm sure a civil war will break out. How much a threat will this be to our troops there? I sure don't want another deal like we had in Samalia! The internal problems will be tremendous and it may be more than the US can handle alone. Turkey wants to send in troops to contain the Kurdish that is part of their agreement to allow troops into their country along with several billion US$ of aide. I want the weasle to go but after that I wonder just how we will fair out with the internal strife that will surely about to play? |
What amazes me is how many people are purposely turning a blind eye to history. The people who have recently traveled to Iraq to be voluntary human shields are a good example of how far this whitewashing of history has gone and the toll it has taken on the feeble minded. It will be interesting to see what the military does in this situation. It will also be interesting to see how far the human shields carry this farce once the bombs begin to fall. One can only hope they will come to their senses sooner rather then later.

It's all politics and power and a never ending story, unfortunately! All that our nation can do, when not engaged in our own little intrigues, is wish for the best and flip the coin again. You never really know what morbidity rests just below the surface in some of these "Dark Age" countries, awaiting its chance to screw up the world a little more? The only thing that we do know for sure about some seething recesses of existence, is that the current ruling faction must go. Beyond that, it is pure speculation as to whether the replacements will be any better than the dearly departed? Unfortunately, more often than not, they are not, or marginal at best! As far as Saddam, he is soon to be yesterday's news. That only leaves bin Laden, Kim il Jon, Castro, and then any other "Up And Comer" who has found the key to success - US AID and a line of bull shit, 10 fathoms deep! Will this ever stop - Hell yeah! The day that one of those huge chunks of space rock, 5 to 20 miles across, smacks into "Old Terra Firma" again! Then in about two or three million years, a new (ruling) life form may appear on what is left of Earth (insects maybe), divide off again into political factions, and quickly obliterate themselves as well, using radio-active shit balls! "Alas, all is vanity!" Veritas |

Unfortunately, the impetus of this (Iraq) and other international soaps, is supplied by the mass media. As it was during the Spanish American War (Willie Randolph Hearst), so again it will be in GWII, me thinks!! VERITAS |
