I never thought that I would hear a president utter the words: ?I let the military make it?s own decisions on the minute to minute conduct of a war!?

Far too often in conflict, a national leader lets his position and passion go to his head and attempts to wear far too many hats! He will often demand that the generals follow his game plan, even though the politico may be far removed from the scene of battle, or has no combat experience himself!

I was shocked, make that pleasantly surprised, when this President deferred to the judgment and expertise of the ?Man With The Stars!?.

We sure could have used someone like him back in the mid sixtys keep the politics off the battle field.
