Mother's Day and parents...

Here is my wish for the best of Mother's Days to all the mothers on here..especially the mothers of veterans and wives of veterans.
As a male I will never understand what being a mother is all about
But as a son and husband and father of two sons, I have an idea.
It is an awesome responsibility. My wife's mother died when she was 7 of kidney disease. Mother's Days are tough for her. My sister has lived away from our mother since 1977 and rarely gets to see her. It is tough for her and my mother. Never fail to tell your parents whenever you can that you love them. My father went to the emergency room one warm March Saturday afternoon and was gone the following Monday morning. I took him for granted. I would give anything to go fishing with him for one day again...If your parents are doing something like cigarette smoking, abuse of over-the-counter or prescribed medications, gambling too much, or anything else detrimental to their well being, encourage them to quit. I wish the high schools would spend some time, like they do with the car-wreck movies for Prom night, and educate the kids with the truth about smoking and health. After having seen the effects up-close-and-personal with my parents and what smoking has done to them...well anyway. Didn't mean to get off the subject..

Happy Mother's Day to all and May God Bless,

Larry
