The Quiet Before The Storm

Saudi Arabia, little more than a desolate sand-pit before the discovery of it?s vast sea of oil, apparently had more than merely ?Black Gold? hidden just beneath it?s surface! And back in 1991, it was not just ?Tiny, Oil Rich Kuwait? that the Coalition defended against the ambitions of ?Saddam Hussein and Iraq?, but rather Saudi Arabia and the entire region!

The terrorism that struck at our hearts and souls on 11 September 2001, was not the first (nor the last) lunge at the backs of freedom undertaken by foreign elements who seek to conquer and destroy from out of the shadows!

Another vicious attack on Monday targeted, not only US interests in the Middle East, but also the Saudis themselves. I did, however, find it disturbing that Saudi Arabia itself has been a breeding grounds for some of the elements of disaster! Of the 29 (reportedly) who perished in the four separate blasts, 9 turned out to be the bombers themselves! Also (reportedly) killed in the blasts were at least seven Americans and a relative of the City?s Deputy Governor. This, of course, is not counting the wounded, 200 or more.

What amazes me the most, however, is the fact that 15 of the 19 terrorists involved in the September 11 attacks were Saudis, as was Osama bin Laden himself. And just last week, the Saudi Arabian government issued an all-points bulletin for 19 men, 17 of whom were Saudi citizens. These men are suspected of planning the attacks that took place on Monday!

"So what?s with the Saudis?" Had it not been for the United States and the Coalition back in 1991, Saudi Arabia might well have become ?Iraq-South? some 12 years ago? Are a few in Saudi Arabia now attempting to accomplish with terrorism, what Hussein tried and failed to do with his army? And are not the Saudis too, being targeted by terrorists?

Apparently, the "Reluctant Saudis (i.e. Gulf War II)", are beginning to feel the bite of the snake that a few within their nation helped to create!

?So what now?!?

When it comes to The Saudis or: "WORLD's GREATEST CON-ARTISTS"(article title) my Friend, one must go way back before 1990 to see just how good The Saudis can deceive. Still, The 9/11 Attack by mostly Saudi Citizens and financed by a Saudi Prince fairly recently being shrugged-off as mainly done by others,...does show that when it comes BS and coniving, The Saudis still have: "The Right Stuff".

Regardless, their "GREATEST" con started in 1947 when the bulk of Palestine was given to The Saudis and Saudi Shiek Abdullah was made The King of the newly established Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. From that time to this very day, The Saudis have convinced The Palestinians (about 70% of today's pop. of Jordan) to love their Saudi Occupiers, while simultaneously hating The Jews and The West in general. Is that not a masterful con-job?

Still, and even after all that has happened to date, The Saudis have even out-done themselves this time around. We still have people here in authority, WHOM ACTUALLY BELIEVE that The Saudis are our Friends and Allies,...and CAN ACTUALLY BE TRUSTED. Wow(!),...P.T. Barnum had it right. Well, at least about American Suckers anyway.

Besides, don't people realize that just like all other Saudis, Osama Bin Laden's finances ALSO come mainly from Saudi Arabia?
Sure, some Mosques here help the bum out. But, so what? The Saudis are the main instigators and financiers,...as always.

FRIEND NEIL et al:

Today I watched the "Saudi Crown Prince" reading (TV), in his native tongue, from a pre-prepared script (translated into English), that abhorred the actions of those who bombed people in their sleep!

His words, although I believe written by a speech- writer, were none the less poignant! However, I got the distinct impression that the arrogant prior rhetoric of many in that neck of the woods, one in particular - "a slashing-mouthed female within the royal family", is beginning to feel some strain!

"Proud and Brave Americans" are (apparently) not the only targets of terror, but indeed, the "Royals of Arabia" could now be realizing that they too may be entering into another period of mortal danger? "Terror, after all, has no allies, save for terror itself!

Could it be that all of that "Yankee Go Home-aphobia" emanating out of the mouth of a few "Saudi Arabian Fair Weatherites" is mutating back into a "Stay On Call America, We may Need You Again Soon" state of mind?!

"Well, do hold your breath dear friends", for until and unless you in Saudi Arabia learn the true meaning of appreciation, the next thing that you hear just might be - "HELL NO, WE WON'T GO (AGAIN)!"

"Hurts, don't it!!"

But not to worry, for the "Real Coalition" has a genuine sense of honor, and we would probably bail you out again (MAYBE)!?

You (no doubt many others also) might be right Friend. But, and the masterful and quite timeless people manipulators that I believe The Saudis to be,...I just don't believe that The Saudi Royal Family and major custodian of The Terrorists' Piggy Bank are the targets of any terrorists.

Hell, even if some of The Royal Family were taken-out, I would believe that "They" were purposelfully sacrificed and nothing more than Show-Biz,...which would quite likely get The Hounds off of THE REAL BLOOD (money also) TRAIL.

Guess I'm not very much of a trusting soul,...especially regarding The Saudis. Besides, they're just too-damn-good at what they do (or don't) to be helpless random targets of opportunity for terrorists, like the rest of us. Also,...there's that: "Biting the hand that feeds" bit, that makes a lot of sense to me.
