Chris

As you know, several years ago I was very ill. When I could see Annette was all stressed out I'd tell her, "I refuse to die until I see the Red Sox beat the Cubs in a world series." Want to take a guess at who's getting worried about the gods of baseball?

Like one of the three owners of the Red Sox said, "I'd give 5 years of my life to see the Sox beat the Cubs in a world series." We do take our sports, especially baseball, seriously around here.

There is still a long way to go and curse of the Babe looms large but as always we are optimistic, white knuckled optimistic. If D. Lowe could just win tonight!

Stay healthy and Cowboy Up,
Andy
PS. Would you believe I met an older man in church who has connections? His son-in-law works in the ticket office at Fenway. It's too late for this year but next year I'm getting tickets on top of the green monster!!! I wish dad was still alive. We could have so much fun chanting, "Yankee's Suck".

T-shirts

There's some new T-shirts making the rounds in Boston. One reads, "Reverse the Curse!" and another reads, "Curse This!".

For Boston, For Boston,

We sing her proud refrain.

For Boston, For Boston,

'Tis Heaven's earthly fane.

For we are all her men

And our hearts are true

'Til the towers on the Heights

Reach the heaven's own blue.

For Boston, For Boston,

'Til the echoes ring again!

Yeah, I know. It's the Boston College fight song but, since the Sox don't have one, it'll have to do.

COWBOY UP!! YEEEHAW, and all that shit!

I have it from a un-reliable source that Boston thru the game tonight to save the life of one very inportant veteran . After reading the account of how this veteran might die if the redsox play the cubbies for the world series they decided to through the game and see if this veteran would retract his statement so they can win the next three game. Notice I don't mention names here

Sne and guys,

I have made exactly one serious on-my-knees prayer to God almighty in my entire life... which was that he allow the Cubs and Red Sox to play a World Series in my lifetime.

I don't care who wins, if they get this chance. I'll stay home every day of the series, and watch every minute of play... and die a happy guy.

I quit rooting for specific teams when the Dodgers left Brooklyn and the Braves left Milwaukee. Broke my heart...

By MARK PRATT, Associated Press Writer
October 12, 2003 BOSTON (AP) -- Boston police are investigating a fight between two Yankees and a Fenway Park worker who was cheering for the Red Sox in the New York bullpen during the AL championship series Saturday night. Police spokeswoman Mariellen Burns said assault charges could be filed against the two players, but she backed off earlier police statements that charges will be filed. ``Summons may be issued,'' she said, ``but we're looking for more detailed information before that happens

Red Sox spokesman Charles Steinberg said Paul Williams, who works for the grounds crew, contended Jeff Nelson and Karim Garcia attacked him. ``The Red Sox are terribly concerned and distressed about the attack on our employee tonight,'' he said. The Yankees denied the players were to blame. ``A security incident like this would never be tolerated at Yankee Stadium,'' president Randy Levine told The Associated Press. ``Unfortunately, there was an atmosphere of lawlessness that was allowed to be perpetrated all day long. The events of the entire day were disgraceful and shameful, and if it happened at our ballpark, we would apologize, and that's what the Red Sox should do here.'' With tempers already high following a bench-clearing melee earlier in the game, Nelson was annoyed that Williams was cheering for the Red Sox while he was in the New York bullpen, and he told Williams so. ``He was standing in our bullpen waving the rally flag,'' the reliever said, following New York's 4-3 win over the Sox in Game 3 of the AL championship series. ``I told him, 'If you're rooting for the Red Sox, why don't you go in their bullpen.' He jumped in my face and tried to take a swing at me.'' Williams acknowledged pumping his fist twice while holding a white towel after the Red Sox turned a double play in the ninth inning, Steinberg said. ``If that was in poor taste, or poor judgment, it certainly didn't warrant a beating,'' Steinberg said. Williams had cleat marks on his back and his arm, and he may have been kicked in the mouth, Steinberg said. Williams was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and hospital spokeswoman Bonnie Prescott said Williams was discharged early Sunday after undergoing tests in the emergency room. She released no details on any injuries. The Red Sox also said that two police officers in the bullpen backed Williams' story. After Nelson confronted Williams, several Yankees surrounded him. Garcia, the right fielder, jumped over the fence and hurt his left hand. He was removed from the game before the bottom of the ninth and was taken to the training room with the hand wrapped. __________________________________________________ ______________The New York Yankees...such a cl-ASS-y organization!
