Welcome Home!

My next door neighbour's nephew just returned from Iraq a few weeks ago! I met him last night. He is with the 101st Airborne Division. Very nice young man. His Auntie is sure mighty proud of him!!! I gave him this site addy so I do hope he peaks in and says hello. I told him that ya all were a bunch of caring curmudgeons. lolol He just laughed... lolol!

Thank you for inviting him and to the soldier
Welcome home and thank you for your service.

Here's hoping he comes here and brings lots of friends. They all can use the support of those who have "been there, done that" and are willing to help them get through the next part. Living with it.

Susan -
Tell him I say Welcome home, too... and we thank him and the 101st.

Sue,

Tell him thanks from me and all of us, and the 101st aint nothing to be ashamed of. They take alot of heat overseas.

A big welcome home to the Trooper. Is the Trooper a Canadian that served with the Screaming Eagles or your neighbor's cross border relative? During the VN war we had some 30,000 Canadians that came south to join the flail and they were certainly welcome. Some of our less than stalwart ones went north to avoid service but I reckon we got the best part of the deal. :D

You didn't have to tell him the truth.

Tell the young Screaming Eagle "Welcome Home" from an old-timer Screaming Eagle. They've done a great job over there, and I continue to take pride in my old unit. I served with two paratroopers from Canada in Vietnam. One in the 101st, and one in the 82nd. Like has already been stated, we came out WAY ahead on that swap. Their service and sacrifices has ALWAYS been appreciated on this side of the border.

Welcome home.
Especially to anyone who knows what a curmudgeon is. And jumps out of airplanes. Enthusiatically.
Son's girlfriend's brother came home a few weeks ago. Gunner's mate (I think) on the "Anzio". Qualed in every thing from the 9mm. to the M-14 (woo woo!) to the deck guns. Gave him a "Welcome home, Bro". Got a big smile and a "You too, sir". Followed by my obligatory "Don't call me sir...".
