shuttle Discovery

Nasa Just wasted a couple million of your tax dollars.
The space shuttle Discovery was stoped from a launch becaise of one sencor, A fuel level sencer 1 of 4 sencors had a wrong reading on it and they stoped the launch. Idiots.
They realy thing that there going to find a point in time when nothing is wrong with the shuttle, Its made by humans, that point in time does not exist. Yes you do not launch if there is a problem with a system that may cause a problem with the shuttle, but this was one of 4 sencors that told how full the fuel tanks were, There Full!!!!! its sitting on the launch pad, puch the button. Again- Idiots.

I'm all for space exploration. I think it's great.

But I do not think that the STS is a viable system.

1. The more complicated a system is, and the more components it has, the greater the chance of errors.. There are over 700 components that are Criticality 1 meaning if they fail the vehicle and the crew will be lost. The solid rocket booster seals and the tiles are two of those.

2. During launch and re-entry the crew cannot be rescued.

Like Ron said...no system is perfect. And when you have a non-perfect system with no way to rescue the crew, you're gonna lose crews. We've already lost two crews. We will lose more. The odds are unavoidable.

These folks have been screwing around with this thing for 2 1/2 years now. You`d think they`d have their shit wired by now.
