My Dinner With a Hero!

Got ya'lls attention with that one. No, Jamie doesn't consider himself any more a hero than I do but he's a 2 tour Iraqi Vet who just made meritorious Gunny. His first tour, he trained Iraqi's to be DI's, his second, Falujia. He's a grunt and his wife works for Deb. We took them to dinner tonight to celebrate his tours, his promotion, and the birth of their new baby. I'm not going into detail, but I'll say this, we ain't gettin the full story here folks. He's got no reason to lie. He's also on his way to LeJuene and it looks like another 14 months in Iraq...and he ain't complaining. No, he doesn't really want another 14 months but he's goin if he has to and believes in what he's doin'. I'm so proud of this son of a bitch I could bust or just cry. What in the Hell is it going to take the people of this country to friggin' GET IT! Our boys are killing these SOB'S so they won't kill us here. If you don't think this is really WWIII.....I feel sorry for you.

I'm drunk and have said enough. Thank God for these men.

Jo doesn't shake hands but she does give great hugs. THANKS JAMIE. Wish I was close enough to shake your hand and thank you personally. That thanks comes from all of us (that's a bunch of people) in this family.

Double what Griz said......

Seascamp 08-06-2005 07:40 AM

Geezzz, Griz. You?re in the 9th District as well and the last thing on earth I?d say about those Judges is ?sober?. Drunk with power is more like it and into ?JUI? crazy making is the ?in? jurist thing anymore, or apparently so. :D

But absolutely agreed with your point, WWIII is upon us, is gathering up momentum and we are in increasing need all the stout hearts and brave souls like Jamie that can be found to lay down a ferocious field of fire and keep pouring it on.

:32: Salute to Gunnery Sergeant Jamie, the best of us.

Hero

No doubt about this being WWIII, within 10 years something will take place in this country that makes 9/11 look like a fender bender car accident. Arabs are famous for fighting long, long wars. God, I hope I?m wrong.

Jamie is a hero. Two, going on three tours and having a wife and young family, being a grunt? Having a wife at home changes the entire equation. What the hell is the definition of a hero?

Griz, I must be more sober than you. It?s after 12 on a Saturday. Bet I can name five judges, friends, who have already had their first.

Stay healthy,
Andy

Hey Waaaaaidddddaminnit!!!

Hey!
I thought I was in WWIII !!
That would make this maybe WWIV or possibly WWV or even WWIV--The Sequel.
Just trying to get things right
Stay good, Happy Birthday Tom!
