Had a bald vistor today
Check out these pictures from a member of the Deer hunting sight I belong to.
He was perched just below my house with a female. They come back ever yr about this time and stay around the Buffalo River, just down the road. Never seen him quite this close to my house though. http://www.tndeer.com/ubb/NonCGI/ult...;f=29;t=002471 and this also http://www.tndeer.com/ubb/NonCGI/ult...9;t=002471;p=2 |
When traveling down
On Tuesday when going down to Walla Walla we follow the Yakima River for about 100 miles. Its the time of year when the steelhead and whitefish are running. We saw probably 15 or 20 bald eagles. They are basically a fish eating eagle. They follow the fish runs. Just beautiful birds. On the coastal rivers you will see hundreds of them during the salmon and steelhead runs. They will eat road kill also. Aren't they beautiful.

Keith,
I have never seen salmon nor steelehead roadkill, but then, I do live in the South. Chilidog |
It's the steelhead
Its the salmon and steelhead that bounce out of the back of Chris and Griz's pick-ups after a day of snagging steelhead and salmon.

The only one I ever saw in Tennessee was from near the West Town Mall in Knoxville. Ft. Loudon Lake is nearby. Kinda not where you would expect one.
