WWII cadet training

was just going over some sites in my documents and came to one that blows my mind away every time I visit it. It's about a WWII cadet, John Christian, and taking him from the beginning through to getting his wings and beyond. His recounting of those days are good reading, and the accompanying music keeps you riveted. Let me know how it struck you.

Chuck - it really goes to say how fast time flys. All my relatives who have served has since passed on. My Uncle Chuck was a bomber pilot, my Dad was a ground pounder, my Uncle Lee was a scabbier. They all served in WWII. My brother Larry and I served in VN - Larry died from complications to agent orange.

Where does the time go. Are we all so wrapped up in our daily struggle to make ends meet - that we don't slow down enough to really get a sense of what is passing?

I met one of the survivors of Pearl Harbor a few years ago and went up and shook his hand. I looked into his eyes and they were a bright and shinny as the day he must have been born.
Many WWII boys and gals are gone. One of my Dad's four wives
was a Army Corp Nurse during WWII and she was one hell of a woman.

I can only hope that we someday learn about how we get ourselves into some of these messes. Man constantly fighting man over issues of which they call National Security. Yet when one war is done another begins shortly thereafter.

The cycle of life is so brief and yet they want to do such harm to others for gains of which only a few will ever really understand.
Our hero's (like you) are all but disappearing. I salute you and all others who've partaken in such ordeals as war. It's an honor to have know men like you and others.
