Flags of our Fathers

Opens tomarrow. Most people don't reolize that, that flag rasing was , 1st - Staged and 2nd- the 2nd flag rasing on that rock. Not that it matters to most people , I think it would matter to Marines that put up the first flag.
Either flag? the acomplishments of those Marines was somthing else.
Will see it tomarrow.

Loking forward to seeing this one. Supposed to be a very good account of the Iwo Jima campaign and the flag rasing.

Hoping to go at 2:00 pm tomorrow.....only $3.00 to get in and less lines. Would expect a big turnout being a Marine Corps town.

All the write-ups have been very good.

Read the book years ago when recovering from last hip surgery. Very good, very sad.

Great Book. Guess I'll go to the movies and see it. Haven't been to a movie since We were soldiers

Just got back from watching it.
I'll not spoil it for others.
The account was very good, I didn't like the way it jumped all over the time line. I'll just leave it at that.

Jumpint all over the time line is how the book was. Understand it can be irritating, but staying true to the book is important...most movies don't get close. Glad you liked it.

Son (Navy submarine vet) and I just got home from the theatre. A powerful presentation. I won't spoil it either.

Eastwood is an incredible director.

I didn't mind the flashbacks because it continued to emphasize what these guys had just been through only weeks before.

My Uncle Art was there

He was also at Tinian and Saipan. He was wounded at Tinian.
I think I'll wind up seeing this for ol Art, he was a good man

I will be going to see this movie and like my Homie it will be the first one since "We Were Soliders". All my VN Marine buds who have seen it give it a big two thumbs up and that's more then good enough for me.

Packy ... $3.00 for a matinee? I'll have to check the prices out around here for afternoon showings but I bet they are at least $ 5.00. I wonder if I can get a senior citizen discount......
