[Stick]

Read this and recalled.
It was early 1966 and I was based at Ft. Puke, Lousyana for AIT. One weekend we got a two day pass and got on a bus to go up to Shrievport for some weekend drunking. "We" was several members from the platoon and included black, white, brown and yellow but we were all in uniform and half way to Shrievport the bus stopped at a roadside restraunt and all of its passengers got off to get some food.
Bob, Luke and I walked in and sat down at the counter and a guy walks up to us and says, "we don't serve no niggrahs here."
I couldn't believe what I heard and asked him what he said and he repeated, "we don't serve NO NIGGRAHS here. Get that NIGGRAH outta here."
Luke got up and went back out to the bus.
I ordered two meals "to go" and went out to the bus when they arrived and enjoyed a meal with Luke.
Damn, did we get schnockered that weekend.
Now, here's where I get pissed.
Woke up this morning and read this while Fox News is on the boob-tube beside me and I here this quote from none other than Ted Kennedy who said "Rosa Parks was a true hero."
Damn I hate it when I have to agree with that Kennedy.
