maggie most naval charges were fired using cordite charges not the old black powder and we had electric firing pf both the five inch 38 charges and our fixed ammo for the 3 inch 54 gun mounts we did not deal with any depleated urinaum like they use now but I know of willie peter also know as white phrophious and we shot alot of star shells at night but most of our shooting was done with regular shells with proximity fuses I don't know how much high explosives were in each one but they said they would level damn near anything.
