Like I said earlier, I didn't 'ask' for this 'bloody fight' as Scamp called it. I saw something I felt needed to be addresed, and I spoke out about it. Plain & simple. You accuse me of "attacking a man's character to prove a political point." Which I did NOT do. I simply saw where someone used language that was at least as improper or unsavory as he had accused others of doing and pointed out the fact to him.

And yet you (and many others around here) very rarely ever offer any outrage or sense of personal or perspicuous resentment to those individuals that have occasion to use that same "character attacking" technique that you say I'm guilty of, towards folks who may be slightly (or more) liable to see things somewhat differently than those who may be of a little different political persuasion than many who are obviously 'right' of center? I don't think I can remember one time where you (or many others around here) have protested or spoken out in such an obviously blameworthy or disapprovingly manner when Col. Murph (and others, most however not to the same degree) has impugned and personally attacked not ONLY my "character", but even my service to my country??? Why do you suppose that is?

As far as that post you've "quoted"..........................I will stand by EVERY SINGLE WORD OF IT!

And, you're RIGHT.........................I NEVER said ALL REPUBLICANS were in that "category" that I've place those "NEW" Republicans. And, I most DEFINATELY take exception to your statement , "This is not a politcal statement this is an attack on the character of every Republican that post on this site". That WAS not my intent and is an absolutely inapplicable in the context you've put it. Why is it that some folks can accuse and/or denigrate Democrats in the most vile and disgusting manner they choose, and yet you see very little of that same 'outrage' or 'condemnation' from most folks around here?

I myself at one time considered myself to be a steadfast "Republican". And voted for many Republican politicians, local & national. But, very rarely after I saw what Ronald Reagan was doing to Veterans and poor folks in this country. And especially after I saw what Newt Ginrich did and was attempting to do in Congress in the early and late 1990's. I have many, many friends and family who are Republicans and feel fortunate and blessed to have the opportunity to associate myself with them.

But it is absolutely UNdeniable that THOSE folks who now LEAD the Republican party are being led astray and unduly influenced by the former "DixieCrats, fundamentalist Christians and far-right wing segments" that make up the most 'visable' and obviously most 'vocal' elements within that party.

I am simply bringing attention and showcasing the things I consider to be in need of addressing by those within the Republican party (and outside it) who are hopefully able to change its' 'direction' before more, and more GOOD Republicans reputations and esteem may be damaged by 'these' folks.

If that hurts folks feelings, then I suppose that's they way it will be.

I also feel we have much more 'in common' than it sometimes appears.

Best to you & yours.
