Default An answer to your question

Frisco,

You have to remember a grunt visiting the city because he had bad feet was a lot different from someone who actually lived in the city and was legally out after curfew. In ?69 a soldier who wasn?t stationed in the city could go to a Cholon bar, buy a minimum of two Saigon teas then pay as little as $5.00 for a short time, $10 for an all nighter, if you waited till anytime after 8 PM. You could also go to Tudo St. buy lots of tea?s and if you didn?t negotiating, well the asking price was $20 or $25. If you went to the Rex or Majestic hotels there were a few American and Aussie girls who charged a minimum of $50.00. There were also some French-Chinese girls who charged about the same. Guess things haven?t really change that much.

Of course back then if it was after curfew and you were down by the docks, (lowest class part of town) you could find a woman who had abandon her morals who would satisfy you for $.50. Always a good idea to see a medic soon after such an encounter.

Stay healthy,
Andy
