I am rated at 10% for Ptsd.My 1st C&P was only 5 minutes,so I had a RO hearing and they gave me another C&P.The rating stayed the same. They said me and my wife lied at the hearing and that I had a psychotic disorder more than PTSD and that I was malingering for secondary gain. Can you believe that? My VSO said I have no chance at winning at the BVA because of the Doctors statement and the rating boards statement How dare them bastards call me and my wife liars and that I am faking. I have been going to the VA Ptsd clinic for 2 and half years. Anyone with any suggestions on any legal action or anything else I can do for the VA accusations?

I can't talk to you about the lawyer part of it maybe one of the brothers can help you there. I will try to fill you in on what I have seen happen with the VSO's And DAV. Denny there are a lot of VSO's out there that are really good and have done a lot for people we have one that has been with us for a long time. However there are some that are lazy and are not doing their jobs.

Find another one if this one is not working for you. I hate to say this but many of the county service officers are not worth a flip. And many of the DAV officers are not worth a flip. This is going to be hard but you have to find someone that will fight for you. Some one that is passionate about getting the job done. You know in your heart when you meet someone if they are for you or against you. If you feel that check in your gut that they are all talk and no action. Move on!

Get your stuff together. Don't depend on them to do it all. Get copies of your records. Medical and Military. There is a place you can write for after action reports of your unit I will see if I can find it.

Insist on seeing another Doc if you believe you are not getting a correct DX. If you can afford it go to a Doc outside the system. Do not at anytime expect that you can sit down and let some one else to it for you. The system is designed to discourage you.

You need a support system if you don't have one find a DAV chapter, Vietnam Veterans chapter, or VFW. Pointman International Ministry a faithbased organization that may offer you support.

Only you know if your claims are legit. If you know they are then this is what my bro would say to you:

1. Don't give up
2. stay sober
3. And stay alive
4. "this is the war you have to fight for the war you fought"

It is a damn shame but "There it is!"

ps. Stay with us Denny there are a lot of good brothers on here to support you. It might help to tell your story to them. Also many of them have found help in group at Vet Centers or through the VA. Don't know if you have tried it but they have told me it helped to know that they were not alone in what they experience. Your wife may find some help here also. arrow>>>>>>
