I grew up almost totally organic. It was called living on a farm. We had cornbread from our corn (it's organic if there is a worm in the tip), bread from our wheat. Beans ,taters and maters, pickled beets, pork we raised on slop and "hog weeds". The chickens ran free and we fed them corn from our grainery. Blackie was our cow's name. I hated it when she got into the wild onions because it made the milk butter and cottage cheese taste funny. My aunt and grandmother would not eat in a restaurant nor buy meat from a supermarket. If a stranger didn't know you and you know them, how could trust the food to be clean? It goes on and on but you get the idea. Buncha hicks.
