I was assigned to the 315th ACS in '67-"68. I know that we were considered 'trash haulers' but one of our pilots was the only transport pilot to be awarded the Medal of Honor in Viet Nam. We worked closely with the Special Forces and re-supplied Khe San,Hue and a lot of forward bases during the Tet offensive when it was decided that the C-130's were too expensive to land at these bases. We also supported some very black operations.

I do not want to blow my own horn or diminish the achievements of the mainstream Special Operations outfits. I have the greatest respect for them and what they accomplished. I just don't want to remind folks that, we to, were part of the team
