Your are soooo right. Foreign Aid monies didn't do a thing but find a sharp stick in the eye. We never were any good at protecting our best interest. I saw Russia changing its colors along time ago. Can't trust them. China is was just a matter of time and Asia never really liked anyone other than their own kind. The Japnese are also learning that their tactics are now being used against them in China and others.

The learning curves of life are very steep to get up - but many of the lessons also have a sudden drop off on the other end. Is it too late for us to make changes? I think so - they already have the blueprint and are making copies everywhere. How this will turn out? God only knows. But its not a pretty picture and seems like its only going to get worse as time goes on. Look at the Brits once a number one world power and so were we but now the tides shifting and now others will become the superpowers.

We have no manufacturing base to fall back on and we depend on much of our raw materials from other countries. Oil is the big one and they use this leverage against us in every proposal from every country with this product.

Our own leaders have not looked at the big picture and when they did - it was too late. Now we must begin to feed off the sour grapes they will be selling us. Yes we've lost our leveage and have very little to offer any of these countries anymore. They can now get much of it elsewhere and for less. Our overhead is such that we will surely bankrupt ourselves and be out looking for handouts from those we've helped in the past - but don't hold your breath - that will never happen - they don't have the same honor system we used to employ.

We are now known as the aggressor's and its our methods and ways doing things that have greatly changed the worlds mind set about us. We can't convince too many to support our way of doing things as the backlash is beginning to leave scars. The few and the proud can't do much about the many who are calling the shots. By the time we wake up we've already found the system has made profound decisions in our behalf causing us undo grief and higher taxes to compliment their errors.
