Happy Birthday, M1 Rifle !!
On January 9, 1936, the rifle, US, cal 30 M1 (Garand) was adopted as the STANDARD "A" rifle for the US Services, replacing the 1903 Springfield as Standard "A".
Gen. George Patton called the M1 the "greatest battle implement ever devised".
