Doc2/47
You too!!! Fight them, don't give the bastards the satisfaction. The VA is throwing the bull. There's little doubt a private doctor would say it was "probable" the Orange caused or at least contributed to the cancer. If you don't fight their decision you are, in fact, taking money away from your family. Further, if you have a "round 2" (God Forbid), it could be worst and already having laid the foundation for a claim and for treatment is very important. Just Do It.
Doc, you are a little newer to the site than some, let me give you a quick bio. I got sick in '97. At the beginning of '98 I was told I was 4th stage with small cell non-Hogkinson's Lymphoma which had "moved" into my bone marrow. Text books, the computer will tell you such a person has 6 months max to live. God and some big time Boston doctors kept me alive and now I'm doing fine, having been an experiment with some new drugs and combinations of drugs. The VA didn't move until the doctor's letters started flowing. Later they dropped me to 40% for the cancer, more letters and some help from people right here on this site and I'm now "permanant and total". Living in III Corps for
26 1/2 months has a direct cause and effect with the cancer.
You could have gotten drafted, you could have signed for 3 years, you could have done 20 but on that dotted line you were not signing up for cancer. You fought then, fight now.
Please stay healthy, please get what is owed to you,
Andy
