of them around our neck. I thought I lost mine 30 years ago. Then a couple of weeks ago, my sister handed me a set of dog tags. I looked at them and sure enough they were mine. Incredulous, I asked her where she found them.

It seems that my father who had been suffering from Alzheimers for many years carried them around with him. After he passed on, my mother and sister were going through his things and found my tags. He must have had them from a brief stay at home after I was discharged back in 71.

So he had them all these years and kept them with him. Kind of made me feel good that he cared. Well now I have mine back, plus Mom gave me his from his Navy days in WW2.
