In '71 we got a surprising influx of personnel at Norton AFB. Turns out they were all released from the Illinois Juvenile Detention System when they agreed to enlist in any branch of the service. For the most part they were OK and did their jobs. A few, however, presented problems, which were quickly quashed with blanket parties and GI showers. They finally figured out, to paraphrase Dorothy, "We're not in Illinois anymore, Toto!"
