I have 2 dogs (male shitzu/bichon and a femal bichon). the lazy boogers. They will pee all over the place if ya don't take them outside! Especially that dern male... why the heck do they feel they have to 'mark' their territory??? argh
so I invested in a Hoover Carpet Cleaner. It has paid for itself over and over already. The 'professional' carpet cleaner guy told me that the trick is to 1st spray soiled areas with plain old water. Acidic based products.. vinegar, windex types quite often will trigger the urge to pee in animals and should not be used unless you wish to have more pee problems..... Really soakthe areas down good so the water gets right to the underlay. Then blot it up with a clean white cloth. Sometimes one has to do that 2 or 3 times. The trick... which I myself have NOT mastered yet, is to get it sprayed and blotted asap. Then when I clean the carpet, I use a product that I got from the vets, which i use in the water along with the carpet cleaner. VET Solutions" made by VET Solutions INC. (duh me) 2517 Gravel Drive, Fort Worth Texas. 76118. Product No. 700 16. It also is said to work on blood, chocolate, coffee, cosemtics (lol could ya use it on that thar nailpolish???), fruit juices, grass( hmmm wonder which kind they meant???) etc. Anyways.. it works not too bad for the doggy pee and odors. sometimes I go over the stain a couple of times.. really soaking the carpet with the solution good.
As far as ants... I dunno.. we have 'regular' ones here but they are not too much bother really. Now them thar grasshoppers is a whole 'nudder story! They are sooo huge here , they could carry off a small child!!!! I heard garlic powder is 'posed to kill them... as well as protect ya from vampires!! hee hee. Seriously, the garlic powder is really supposed to work. go figure eh? And here them poor farmers have sprayed 4 or 5 times with farm chems already when they shudda/cudda been using good ol' garlic powder! ROFLAMO... just watch the price of it sky rocket now!!!
good luck! and let us know how ya do!
Susan
