Re: TSA Revisited (Jobs)
I have been through SeaTac in the fall of 2003 and it was awful.
My wife and I fly Space A out of civilian airports such as Atlanta and
SeaTac so we can compare them.
Atlanta has more traffic than SeaTac I think and the place runs much better
than SeaTac. SeaTac had two bottlenecks where movement of PAX slowed down
to a stop.
When they divided up the SeaTac terminal after 9//11 they put the cafes and
restaurants on the secure side which means you can not eat there while you
are out in the general waiting area. In addition the only time you get into
the secure area is when you have been cleared for your flight and you go
directly to the plane. As I recall there were only two places to eat on the
outside and they closed earlier than we expected that night.
The USO at SeaTac is a grade A number one place and if you use SeaTac you
should at least visit and leave a donation.
Atlanta has a very fine USO also and both of these places do a much needed
job so well.
Can someone who has been to SeaTac lately advise whether or not they have
cleared up that bottle neck down at the end of the end of the terminal where
you wait to take off your shoes etc.? What about places to eat, have they
got that cleared up yet?
