I firmly believe our government should raise the military pay for many reasons. One, get the pay up so our military can live and enjoy a lifestyle equal to corporate pay. Two, any serviceman going into a combat zone, get extra pay. Three, increase the pay for the number of years in the service, even if the person did not go up in rank. If the government would just stop sending our tax dollars (foreign aid) to every country that complains to us and demands the money, we could efford to pay a very good salary to our military. And you are correct, give them good health benefits and a damm good pension.. If we would do this, we would get and keep quality people in the military, and for damm sure, we would never have to draft another person.
