1. Adopt the FairTax Plan that would abolish all other federal taxes, the IRS, and many parts of the federal bureaucracy.
2. Restructure the VA, fund it to the point where promised benefits are delivered, giving veterans a choice of where they receive treatments, medications, etc.
3. Abolish the Dept. of Education, since education is not rightfully a responsibility of the federal government. Reduce federal employment by 10% across the board.
4. Completely revamp border security, by first securing the borders, then start rounding up illegals. Immediately deport all illegals currently occupying any of our jails or prisons. Register all illegals. Enact laws making it a felony for employers to hire illegals, with fines of $100,000 per day per wetback. Prohibit the exportation of illegals' paychecks to Mexico. Initiate a guest worker program which balances jobs with able bodied workers. Require guest workers to leave after two years.
5. Fund hydrogen-cell development for eventual installation in automobiles.
6. Fast-track construction of nuclear-powered generating stations.
7. Enact legislation that term-limits representatives and senators.
8. Start privatizing the Social Security system, allowing graduated percentages of funds to be invested in private accounts, with younger employees having the larger percentages. Eventually eliminate it with private accounts. Begin incremental elimination of the drug benefit plan as well.
Don't think I would do this. Many years ago the some state privatized their retirements with disasterous effects. People don't manage their own money well.
9. Enact the line-item veto process.
10. Reform and re-align the Dept of Defense to make it more responsive to wars of the 21st century.
11. The Medical Industry needs a complete overhaul. Expenses are getting out of hand. Inflation in the Medical Industry far exceeds any other industry. Greed on all levels from the Drug Companies, Medical Equipment Suppliers, Insurance Companies, and Medical Workers themselves. Something has to be done.
