An Addition
Kindly add my father, C. Ray Barnes, 1906 - 2000, to your list of real heroes. He was 4-F, (uncorrected hernias, and 3 sons) but worked in the commissary at Ft. Ringgold, Texas. Ringgold, my birth place incidentally, was the last horse cavalry fort of the Army. Befoe the end of the war, he was told to go have the surgery so the Army could draft him; the A-bombs interceded for him!
