Well, it seems no one quite got what I was trying to say....I will try to re-group and say it a different way. There are maybe 50 - 80 folks who regularly post on here. I have no way to tell how many of the other 5,000+ stick around for any length of time, or wht they read... Of the folks that regularly post, I consider each and every one sort of like an extended family. I have only been able to meet in person and talk on the phone to a few of you. What I owe you as a group is in no small measure my life..You can read about there elsewhere in my posts...I guess what I am trying to say is the constant posts about politics has reached the burn-out threshold with me. We seem to get very few new members now, and it just gets kind of old with the liberal vs. conservative-never-ending-arguments. If there were a few others on here that wern't so hijacked by all-the-hoopla of both parties, maybe I could get interested. I am not bailing. I will still post stuff I find interesting in other forums, mostly Vietnam War related items, or veteran's issues... I appreciate all your kind comments. But nine more months of this is a bit much...Like I tried to say...friendship is more important to me than political ideology right now. When all the political-ad-money has been spent, when all the hoopla is over, and the next president is sworn in on January 20, 2005, will anything change for the better ? I would like to think so, but I have lived 55 years, and I KNOW better. Politicians of all parties will continue to lie, veterans will continue to get f*cked over, active duty, National Guard, and Reserve troops will not get the equipment, pay and benefits they deserve, Congress will pork-up every bill they pass, kids will still go to bed hungry, our education system will continue to deteriorate, our porous Southern border will continue to be a vehicle for illegal aliens, crime of all types, and drugs, and our leaders will continue to spend the country into oblivion, with a price-tag everyone under 30 will have to pay for many decades to come... that is where I am coming from. I hope that is clear, if not I will try again... LOL
Larry
