Trang Bang
Go Da Ha, Bo Loi and Hobo Woods, The top hat and Mushroom area along the Saigon river were all a hot bed of VC. We had a platoon in there once that took 11 casualties from booby traps alone, not a shot fired. We got the 34th armor to drag the area with anchor chain streched between two tanks. They lost a guy when the chain was blown in half and hit one of them sitting on the deck of the tank. Many a 25th Div Soldier lost their lives because of the political aspects of the war in that area. I wouldn't know myself but rumor has it that the village chief of Trang Bang was a target under the PHOENIX program. Was taken out at a range of 465+- yards with an XM23. Just rumor you know.
