Michael Moore can chew on this...
After seeing just the clips of Michael Moore's movie trying to portray President Bush as being more concerned about his golf game than the two wars we are in, I had to pull out this poem.
During Desert Storm, I saw President Bush #1 out on a lake in Kennebunkport (spelling) right after the war started, and he was getting a rest break by going out fishing with James Baker.
The media flipped out.
"How could he go fishing while the war is on?" ...
and in the picture at the time, Baker was on the "bat-phone" to someone while senior Bush was casting for big-mouth.
So, this is my attempt at the Leftist artsy-fartsy world of poetry...
President Bush Went Fishing
Media coniptions, and cat-calls came ?a flying,
Gulf War scenarios of young Americans dying.
Hand wringing and tears from the social elite,
Never supporting evil Saddam?s defeat.
Vietnam?s fiasco taught the Generals well,
Obiviously the media was still unable to tell.
Politician?s are not generals, nor infantry brave,
Micro-management from D.C. no longer the rave.
President Bush had it right, his intentions he tipped,
If the U.N. deadline passes, the switch gets flipped.
The military is a machine, tuned to extreme,
Once you light the burners, just watch it scream.
Media agast, arguing about diplomacy spent,
Mr. President in a speed boat, off fishing he went.
Thank you Mr. President.
