Discharge Petition on Full Funding for VA Health Care Take Action!
Please Write or Call Your Representative TODAY!
On Tuesday, October 5, 2004, Representative Chet Edwards (D-Tex.) introduced a ?discharge petition ,? which would force the house to consider a freestanding bill, H.R. 4423 to increase funding for veterans health care to $32.1 billion, 4.22% above the 2005 VA-HUD appropriations bill. In order to bring the measure to the House floor for a vote, 218 signatures are needed.
This is a matter of some urgency, as Congress plans to adjourn on Saturday, October 9, 2004. Please contact your Representative TODAY to ask him or her to sign the Edwards discharge petition. You can use the prepared e-mail message on the DAV web site. Additionally, you are encouraged to call the district office of your Representative.
