I feel like I finally got my parade last night and early this morning. The parade none of us got when we returned from doing our duty 30 years ago. We deserved a parade no doubt, and now that the parade is here, it really feels good.
It's a really long parade. 2.6 million of us Vietnam vets got some recognition that was denied us by the society that had it's mind polluted by the likes of Jane Fonda, Ramsey Clarke, the Kennedys and John Kerry and the liberals. And I'm confident that the 58,000 plus vets that did not make it back like me are watching the rest of us as we remember them and enjoy our parade. And I expect they are even happier than I am, if that's possible.
I'm so very proud of our vets and POWs. We played a significant role in this last campaign, and like our service in Vietnam, we served with courage and distinction. We honored the sacrifices of each other by telling the truth about what we know. And to be able to help defeat a propaganda machine that had the media in it's pocket is no small accomplishment.
