Default An opinion

After the blood letting of the Revolutionary War our ancestors created a nation. It wasn't easy, matter of fact there was lots of name calling and even saber rattling. The genius of our forefathers was their ability to compromise. They sure didn't agree on everything but the North still talked to the South, the small states talked with the large states and eventually came up with one nation. Our country was built on compromise and as any democracy must continue to compromise if we want to exist.

The only time in our history the ability to compromise failed was just after the election of 1860. We all know about the horror that took place as a result. In the election of 2004 there was nothing as divisive as the issue of slavery. Even if there had been something which ripped us apart, knowing history, we would have had a moral obligation to compromise.

We would be well served to accept the notion that we don't all think the same, we don't all see the same events like everyone else. God, I would hate a country of Stepford Wives. Lets continue to disagree, we have that right, we fought for that right. But please keep in mind we are Americans. Even if someone really disagrees with you, they are not a Nazi or a Communist, they are Americans who believe in our Republic. Maybe the best idea is to never type while angry.

Stay healthy,
Andy
