Seems to me that the words: "...may not be safe for aid workers" and the nonsense of sending U.S. Marines "UNARMED" into Indonesia for relief and road building purposes,...just don't jive.

Hell, anyone demanding or ordering that such be done, is one-helluva World Class A-- hole,...and quite an arrogantly-stupid A-- hole too boot. Most of Indonesia isn't like the rain ravaged California Coast, always hurricane striken Florida and/or where aid workers or road builders need never be armed. Quite the opposite,

Thusly, I would suggest that any Marines quite foolishly forced/ordered helping out in apparently hostile and not very America-friendly Indonesia,...be forced/ordered doing so ONLY in areas initially deemed safe and appropriate for American Tourists.

Realities being what they are,...Ordering "UNARMED" Marines" during wartime to go ANYWHERE in Indonesia, would unarguably be the most stupidly cavalier ORDER I ever heard of in my lifetime,...going all the way up to the top of The Chain of Command. It's about as dumb as when Clinton placed Americans under UN Command & Support in Somalia.
WOW!!!,...AGAIN foreigners dictating what the U.S. Military can or cannot do. Absolutely amazing!!!

Besides, and much like others here, I think that Americans should be more concerned about Americans,...than anyone else and/or ANY foreigners worldwide. Don't we have enough problems HERE, like hurricanes, twisters, fires, floods, mudslides, and even earthquakes to contend with??????

Also, and if we got all our people (ie. Americans) the-hell-out-of- there,...what's the point in The U.S. Military going back there in the first place? Any further relief needed in Indonesia and the area should be taken over by The UN, The World Charities abounding for such, and even America's quite generous Hollywood Crowd.

If stupid nations won't permit American Military Aircraft to overfly or land for the delivery of relief items,...screw "Them".
Then, simply let The UN, World Charities abounding for such, and even America's quite generous Hollywood Crowd,...go out and charter all the aircraft needed. Would increase the business for America's Air Freight Carriers, to-boot.
