Question Worse Than The Disease?

The old saying about - "The cure being worse than the disease" certainly holds sway in today?s society!

Have you ever noticed how a commercial for a new medication is often followed by a seemingly never ending deluge of warnings about potential problems? Some of these complications can even prove to be fatal at times, and can occur as a direct result of taking these (so-called) neo-panaceas?

But then, big money and power rules the roost, from top to bottom, and concern over the health and welfare of the masses rarely enters the picture when compared to the desire$ and demand$ of the powerful few!

?But alas, the same is true of damned near every aspect of life these days, or so it seems??
----------------------------------------
For every new law that is enacted, below the surface we discover a cornucopia of bugaboos that could prove every bit as deadly as no law at all!

For every action that is taken to insure a separation of church and state, we find a counter reaction that usually shreds the hell out of either or both of these basic concepts!

For every promise bearing (neo) politico that we insert into office, we discover that an army of old school elitists are on hand to pollute and corrupt the newcomer!

For every person who surfaces out there with new ideas, there are ten or more ready to steal it, or who present a multitude of reasons why it can not be done!

For every person with a noble cause or crusade, there are a thousand miserable cusses slithering about in the wings with an illogical agenda that is geared to destroy that which could benefit the entirety of mankind!

And for every selfless and giving individual in our midst, there is a legion of me-first takers and abusers!

I guess in politics, it all boils down to taking one-step forward - then two steps backward? And talking the talk alone, rarely (if ever) translates to walking the walk, especially among those with the power and/or responsibility to enact meaningful change!

Unfortunately for us all, people like this are usually quite content with the status quo, just as long as it makes no waves, enhances the overall clique mentality, and adds to their own personal wealth and power!

Why do a few politicians and fools go through life deceiving themselves into believing that there is only one way of doing things - their way? For what little of a positive nature that these scant few politicos do attempt, usually means precious little to the overall nature of things? In fact, many fool but a single individual (on a day by day basis) with their posturing and pandering - ?IT BEING THEMSELVES!?

And why is it that even noble causes often fall short and die along the wayside? Especially if the individual who proposes these needed changes is not a member of the same vested group who champion any given agenda?

Are not the people who operate behind the scenes and fear to show their faces until any given issue has been successfully culminated, cowards in the truest sense of the word? And these creatures usually do not dare to surface until their self-perceived enemies have been eliminated through deceit and lies?

Worse yet, why do a scant few politicians even bother to get up in the morning, as their (so-called) contributions to the existence and the advancement of Americana, are naught but exercises in futility? More realistically, a few politicos excel in fooling themselves alone, along with the obedient sheep that almost always fall into line behind them?

Now I suppose that when this piece too is analyzed by the gods of the written word, it too will be allocated a position within the realm of political debate. For after all is said and done, what in the Hell these days is not, or can not be construed as political in nature? That is of course, with the exception of politics itself, as those so engages are not, as the word itself implies:

?Skillful, Ingenious, Wise, Prudent or Expedient and Judicious??

A few (not all) of these men and women of politics, do however, fit to a tee, the other expletives applied to their art, those attributes being:

Shrewd, crafty, sly, cunning and oft time untruthful!
