Knighted head master arrested in school fraud case
According to a report in the
Guardian newspaper a former knighted headteacher has been arrested over claims that he and colleagues mismanaged school funds. Sir Alan Davis, received his knighthood in 2000 for services to education.
Davis had been arrested for conspiracy to defraud Copland community school in Wembley. It is alleged that 1 million Great British Pounds over seven years was paid to the school’s senior management team according to the article. In November 2009 Davis resigned after being suspended while an investigation of financial mismanagement was undertaken.
The report also states that two other senior school officials have been arrested for conspiracy to defraud in relation to this case.
