I suggest you read Richard Clarkes' and Paul O'Neil's books for starters.

After that, come back and we'll have further discussion and I'll offer you more evidence that the terrible events of"9/11" were used/manipulated to justify the attack upon Iraq.

Bottom line.............Iraq had NOTHING to do with "9/11"....even though I'm sure Sadam Hussien wishes he did.
By that I suppose you mean to say Iraq herself prior to the fall of Saddam and the Baathists had not been proven to have contributed to the attack upon us on 9/11?

I guess you are also saying (vis a vis the reference books you recommend) that a lot of mistakes were made interpreting intel and fiddling around with stuff prior to invading Iraq?

Here's a book I will recommend to you, and all confreres, which will certainly give an idea of what it was that has been compelling our government for the past few administrations to keep a mighty close eye on Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, Syria and Russia.

From that source, it will be very easy to understand not only why America and Britain took the lead against Iraq, but what is more, why it is so vital that:

a. The battle be taken and taken and taken TO the enemy until he surrenders.
b. Democratic governments and free economies be established throughout that entire region.

There are no parallels, of any kind, between this war and Vietnam.

Curiously, however, the opposition's arguements against the fight are strangely similar.
