Yup... during the last Ice Age
, Sheppard was mostly about aircraft and missile stuff. Believe it or not, we then had NO jets on our mothball flight line.
That's where I took my first hopeful steps toward Crew Chief, AFSC 43131A.
I have almost no idea what they are doing these days. The current standard wikipedia article about Sheppard ain't even close to the reality of the place that I recall... it's on the BRAC hit list anyway.
It's an Air Training Command base, not real sexy or covered in glory, but a lot of fine airmen have come out of Sheppard.
