The Pentagon on Wednesday identified a U.S. Army soldier killed in a noncombat incident in Iraq over the weekend.

Sgt. Nathaneil Irish of Billings, Mont., died Sunday of a “non-combat related incident at Camp Taji, Iraq,” the Defense Department said in a statement.

The 23-year-old was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, which fights ISIS.

No additional information was provided, and the incident is under investigation.

Irish was assigned to the 25th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team based in Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

Personal note: We here at the Patriot Files send our respects to Sgt. N. Irish family and friends for their loss.

Amen.
