Good Evening Reeb,

I am sorry to hear about your step daughter. It seems she is doing the right thing and that is getting out. The second decision for her should be to seek counseling. There are many non profit organizations that will provide her counseling and domestic violence classes.

Additionally, there are women support groups that offer assistance in many departments ie., emergency housing and assisting with court appointed protection orders.

I would recommend your entire family support her during these difficult times. She may want to go back to him. The chances of her doing that are greater than her not. Her family should act as her sounding board and be her pillar of strength.

Lastly,

Should she not receive some form of counseling for the abuse, the probability of her finding another abuser is very likely. She must break away from the violence altogether.

I wish your step daughter wellness and strength.
