Alaska Fire Chief Suffers Heart Attack

Mike Fenster, acting Chief of Capital City Fire/Rescue, Juneau, Alaska, suffered a heart attack on Thursday, April 15.
According to Fire Marshall Richard Etheridge, Chief Fenster, 57 had spent his Thursday shift working on contract negotiations. "He left the firehouse at approximately 5 p.m. He was home alone when he called 911 around 7 p.m., fearing that he would be unable to drive to the hospital." Chief Fenster suffered a heart attack at approximately 7:30 p.m. while riding in the back of the ambulance.
