Many years back, when I was carrying a column in a small Central Valley rag, I made a few non-correct comments about a former politico's abilities during an international crisis!
It wasn't long thereafter, that I started getting calls from a pastor friend, my employer at the time, and other acquaintances who had been questioned about my life!
So you see Dude, I believe you emphatically! In some sectors, freedom of speech (even though fairly benign as things go), is frowned upon! (opinion)
What is that old saying: "Free speech is grand, but not in my political backyard!" And so it is, unfortunately!!
I quess that in politics, it is better safe than sorry and I don't blame them! It is all part and parcel to the game, is it not?!
