A Poyner, Texas native was recently awarded a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Lance Cpl. Jared M. Sackett received the award for exemplary performance as a night watch clerk in the Command Joint Operations Center for Joint Forces Land Component during Operation Tomodachi in mainland Japan.
