Default Mosquitos 6148th - Carl Erickson

My dad was a member of this squadron from I believe 55-56.
This squadron was mainly a forward air control unit. My dad was there right after the peace treaty was signed, but they were still full filling that duty flying T-6's

They also flew C-47's. Here from my dad's stories they would fly 4 hour squares in the south China sea with Korean, Chinese and Russian interpreters listening in on radios in the back. Similar to the Navy plane that was captured a few years back.

One of my favorite stories was when flying this route my dad had a new co pilot. Slowly a Russian Mig pulled up along side. The co pilot asked my dad "Capt. what should we do" my dad replied " You can take that Thompson (between the seats) and open the window and shoot him down or I'll fly over into those clouds so he will want to break off!"

Attached please find a patch form that ERA.

Dave
