Letter came on the 16th it seems our boy is doing rather well.
Wanted Ranger School for Engineers but doubts he will get it.
Found out his first duty station is Ft. Campbell, KY thinks he's being attached to the 101st? Not confirmed yet.
He wanted overseas duty but is happy with his new assignment.
Graduation is August 7th. Seems the program is getting or taking its toll on a few of the troops. Everyone he say's has a broken something or other. Last march with rock packs a guy broke his foot.
He's really trying to get airborne assignments but hasn't had any luck. He feels the Army will use him where they need him most. He's agreeable with that for now. Say's he can't wait to see what the real Army is like after OCS school.
Sez he really is feeling good after getting his assignment and most of the guys he knows got Korea.
First liberty he three other's went into town and chowed down on the biggest steaks they could fine. ha ha That made their day.
