Default Samoan Civil War

The Samoan Civil Wars is a Western definition of political activity in the Samoa Islands of the South Pacific in the late 19th century. By this non-Samoan definition, the Samoan Civil Wars were a series of skirmishes between Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States, beginning with the Samoan crisis in 1887 and ending in the partitioning of the island chain in 1899. The First Samoan Civil War lasted for eight years. The concluding event was the Second Samoan Civil War. The warring Samoan factions were supplied with weapons and training; at times armed naval personnel from Germany, Britain and the United States participated. The three powers were playing off the Samoans parties against one another as each country had at stake significant commercial and strategic interests in Samoa.
