KAUNAKAKAI, Hawaii – Petty Officer 2nd Class Negus Manna, right, a boastswain’s mate from Coast Guard Station Maui, competes against an official in a game called “Haka moa”, or chicken fight on Molokai, Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011.
Coast Guardsmen from Coast Guard Cutter Ahi, Cutter Kittiwake and Station Maui participated in the annual event during the four month-long Hawaiian season of Makahiki. The event included games such as arm wrestling, sprints, spear throwing, rock heaving and a tug-of-war.
