Several years ago, at a Harvard-Yale football game at Harvard Stadium, some MIT students snuck into the stadium the night before the game and buried a deflated weather balloon with several "MIT"'s painted on it in the middle of the field, along with a small remote-controlled inflation pump. During the change of quarters, the balloon inflated and popped out of the ground. Unfortunately, the remote pump didn't pick up the "stop" command and the balloon burst. But it was still a good gag.
