somebody has accused me of being a thief, which I confessed and I have to say he was right--I stole a lot of stuf from the Army. I figured if it was there to help the troops fighting th war, and I was fighting the war, than no one deserved it more than me. if I had a gun in my hands and needed something, well, I just walked up and took it--I was a grunt. I would ALWAYS share wih my friends. well, almost always. You know what they called the 101st, don't you? "Homeless people with guns"
Example: While I was in ft bragg, on detail in central supply one day i came across a mountainof fur lined pile caps. We were running maneuvers in Dec and there as snow on theground and nobody had a pile cap but our CO. I took the 3 pfc's I was commanding, ordered them to pick up a case apiece, linred them up and marched them out the door in my best "LT Smith ordered me to do this" attitude, took them back in a military deuce and a half AND PASSED THEM OUT TO PARATROOPERS GOING OUT ON MANEUVERS!! This was freelance socialism at its finest. Sorry if it lost the war, really, oh absolutely
Example: me and my best friend stole an MP jeep while they were ocupied wih another lrrp who had cornered them with a grenade, al the tim being personally naked (th lrp, not the MPs)
We then scratched our opinon of 1st cav MPs on the hood an p-ssed n the seats.Geez that was childish, that really was. i don't regret it for a minute, tho. Send me the bill, I want to frame it and pass it down to my grandkids!!!!
the .45 that I stole from the Army i got from a friend who wouldn't need it ever again and had sentimental value for me--send me the bill for that one too!! It was later stolen from me in a burglary, as was the Mauser I brought home--got that one too from someone else who wouldn't need it ever again
I used to think of myself as Robin Hood, stealing only from the Army or big corporations I worked for. then my first sponsor asked me if I knew what they called someone who only stole from big corporations and he Army--a thief.
I paid back PGE and the VA but I didn't pay back the Army--I figured we were even for not paying me the first 3 months I was in Panama (records lost in transit) i spent the rest of my tour there paying Shylock vig.

I did worse things than that also
I just try to be honest, one day at a time, sometimes its an effort, sure enough, not 100% ever. How's that for honesty? Can anybody else look me in the eye and and say he didn't steal something from the Army--let him cast the first stone if so Check what I say very closely--the ol lrrpster knows how to run bullsht also--thats why I know it when I see it
